The Dyson V6 Trigger Pro is another edition of the Dyson range of cordless handhelds, famous for their portability and ease of use. What sets them apart from the competition is the amazing battery life, suction power and ease of cleaning. Most cordless vacuums are either lacking power or battery life, but the V6 has none of these issues – it just keeps going and going. It even doesn’t lose power as the battery depletes. Amazing!
V6 Design And Technology
For the making of the Dyson V6 Trigger, the company has used their favourite silver plastic. There are also purple and red highlights which enhance the sleek appearance of this gun-like vacuum. It is 208mm high, 395mm long, 144mm wide, and weighs 1.6 kilograms. This handheld’s ergonomic design provides a comfortable grip and the evenly distributed weight ratio makes it well-balanced and stable.
Other handhelds on the market either use weak or bulky motors while the V6 Trigger Pro is accompanied by the well-known digital motor V6. Spinning up to 110,000rpm, it is small and powerful at the same time. What is more, it appears to be 3 times faster than most conventional motors.
Similar to the original V6, the Trigger version is equipped with Root Cyclone technology. Each of the 15 cyclones contributes to the creation of airflow that captures microscopic particles as small as 0.5 microns.
V6 Trigger Bin Capacity
The V6 Trigger Pro has the same bin capacity as the V6 Trigger – 0.4L. The polycarbonate makes the bin durable as well as transparent. The ‘clear’ dust bin makes it possible for you to keep an eye on the level of accumulated dust. The technology of emptying has not been changed – it is as hygienic as usual, requiring just a push of a button and it is as good as new.
Battery Life And Power
It is no surprise that this model unit uses the same re-engineered fade-free nickel manganese cobalt battery as the original V6. The Dyson cordless trademark – the runtime enhancing trigger – is also featured as it immensely contributes to energy and battery saving. The company claims that the battery recharges up to 3 times faster than others (three hours and a half). On standard mode, the V6 Trigger Pro offers 20 minutes of continuous cleaning with 28 air watts of suction power, which applies to the V6 Trigger Pro as well. If you put the mini motorized tool on, the run-time of the battery is reduced to 17 minutes. Boost mode, which provides 6 minutes of 100 air watts of suction power, is also available for this handheld but the battery doesn’t last nearly as long as regular mode.
Like other editions of V6 handhelds, the Trigger Pro is equipped with a washable lifetime filter. Since it is positioned on top of the machine, you can access it very easily, lift it out, and then wash it in running water if needed. I had my V6 for over two years now and the filter is still as good as new – there is rarely a reason to wash it ever.
V6 Trigger Attachments
The Dyson V6 Trigger Pro package includes more attachments than the original V6 Trigger. The main difference between the Trigger and the Trigger Pro is the mini motorized tool that is perfect for removing stubborn pet hair from carpets and furniture. With its help, the vacuum cleaner can remove hair from upholstery as well as confined spaces like under and around beds. The stiff nylon bristles dislodge ground-in dirt from carpets, and stairs and car footwells as well.
The traditional combination tool and rigid crevice tool are useful if you want to vacuum places inside your car, and also mantels and crevices.
Price and warranty
The Dyson V6 Trigger Pro costs a bit more than the V6 Trigger. However, by spending a few more, you get the special mini motorized tool. It gives you more options and transforms your cordless handheld into a powerful animal and pet hair cleaner. What is more this V6 comes with a 2-year warranty which makes it even more appealing.
