Dyson V8 Animal Review – The Better V6 Cordless Vacuum

Dyson V8 Animal Versus V6 Animal

The Dyson V8 Animal cordless cleaner is the big brother of the Dyson V6 Animal. If you have been impressed by the old model, well this one can offer you the same features but with more power, longer battery life and bigger canister. This new Dyson is more powerful, it has a whole new machine filtration and the battery life is vastly improved. It is much more expensive as well – something to be expected of the new flagship cordless vacuum.

Dyson V8 Animal Review

Check Out the reviews and price of the new Dyson V8 Animal Vacuum CleanerThis Dyson V8 Animal uses the same Two Tier Radial cyclone technology as the Dyson V6 Animal. The 15 cyclones increase the airflow and capture more dust and dirt than before. The difference between the two versions is the HEPA filtration that the new one has. It removes allergens and bacteria as small as 0.3 microns, and the air that leaves is cleaner of the one you breathe because of the sealed system. Another improvement is the advanced digital motor V8, which creates more powerful suction.

Size And Dimensions

The V6 Animal measures 250mm by 1214mm by 208mm, and weighs 2.11kg, while V8 measures 250 by 1244 by 224mm, and is a little heavier than the old model-2.55 kg. The V8’s bin capacity is more than the one of the V6’s 0.4L – 0.54L and it is emptied in a new way. While the bin of the V6 Animal releases the dirt when the button is pushed and the door is opened, the new bin has an ejector which empties it at once. Another upgrade is the suction power; it can generate 20% more power than the old V6 Animal.

There is a newly released model between those two – the new Dyson V7. Once we have the review up I’ll update this post with the comparison.

What are the main differences between the new Dyson V8 and Dyson V6?

  • The V8 has bigger and more powerful motor
  • The V8 battery lasts longer – 40 minutes vs 20 minutes
  • The V6 is lighter than V8 – 2.04Kg vs 2.61Kg
  • The V8 has a bigger bin than the V6 – 0.54L versus 0.4L.
  • Dyson V6 has a shorter charge time versus V8 – 3.5 hours versus 5 hours
  • The V8 is much more expensive than the V6
  • The V8 is longer than the V6 with 3cm
  • The V6 is a bit louder than the V8 – 87dB versus 82dB

Here are the full specifications of both the V8 and the V6 hoovers:

Battery Life

Dyson V8 Animal Cordless Hoover Review
The Dyson V8 Animal uses a more enduring nickel-cobalt-aluminum battery, and its life is extended up to 40 minutes, instead of only 20 minutes like the V6 battery. On max mode, it lasts up to 7 minutes and with the motorized floor tool up to 25 minutes. The trigger grip releases instantly, which means that the battery is used only for vacuuming. This allows you to save battery power when you don’t need it.

V8 Handheld

Dyson V6 Animal Hoover Transformation

Similar to the other Dyson cord-free vacuums, the Dyson V8 Animal and Dyson V6 Animal can transform into a handheld device. This makes it extremely efficient if you have to clean something quickly or a place that is very hard to reach. Due to their light weight and balance, you can clean both the floor and the high ceiling with no effort.

Tools And Accessories

Dyson V8 Animal Cordless Vacuum Accessories
The mini motorized tool is used for removing pet hair, ground-in dirt from furniture and car interior; the combination tool cleans dust from tight spaces; the rigid crevice tool is handy for hard-to-reach places like ceiling corners with cobwebs. The Docking station is a place where the machine is charged and stored, and the additional tools are stored, whenever you want to clean everything is in place and ready. Instead of the wider motorized cleaner head, the Dyson V8 Animal uses the direct-drive cleaner head. The new Dyson V8 Animal has a 150% more brush bar power than the Dyson V6 Animal vacuum. The brush bar is pushed deep into the carpet to remove ground-in dirt from carpets or dust from different hard floors thanks to the powerful direct-drive motor.

Value

The price of the V8 Animal is quite high, it costs around 100 more dollars than the original V6 Animal. However, it is definitely worth spending those extra funds for a new and more advanced machine. The V8 Animal performs better than the old one in almost every aspect tested. It has a bigger battery, bigger bin, better motor and much-improved cleaning process compared to the old V6.

Review Conclusion

Check Out the reviews and price of the new Dyson V8 Animal Vacuum CleanerThe new offering from Dyson – the V8 Animal – is even a better version of the already impressive Dyson V6 Animal. It is perfect for people with pets which are fed up with hair all over the place. It is very light and well balanced for cleaning the house from top to bottom. Instead of taking out the large upright, you just grab the cordless vacuum and quickly do your chores with no minute to waste.

V8 Pros:

The battery life lasts longer than the old V6 model. It has power for up to 40 minutes, 20% more suction power and 150% more brushing power than the V6. What is more, the V8 has a whole machine filtration (HEPA), which captures more microbes, allergens, and bacteria than before.

V8 Cons:

The main is the price, of course. The V8 is a flagship device for Dyson and as that, it is pretty expensive. Another downside is the battery life at max mode – it is only 7 minutes. There something rather strange too – the docking station that comes with the V8 doesn’t have enough space for all the attachments – you just can’t mount all of them at the same time.
